Silicon Valley story receives Alfred P. Sloan Foundation grant
April 12, 2013 -- The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has awarded a major production grant to Kikim Media for the production of a three-hour series on the cultural, intellectual and technological history of Silicon Valley.

Ornament of the World in post-production
April 2013 -- We have finished editing our rough cut and are now beginning the animation process. We will finish the film in late 2013 - early 2014 and look forward to a PBS primetime broadcast later in 2014.

Kikim Media receives a National Science Foundation grant for In Defense of Food
March 8, 2013 -- The National Science Foundation has awarded a major production grant in support of In Defense of Food, Kikim’s forthcoming documentary based on the best-selling book by Michael Pollan. A two-hour special for public television, In Defense of Food will shed new light on the evolving relationship between nutrition, science, food and public policy. Production is set to begin later this spring.

Special screening of Extreme By Design at Stanford University on April 9, 2013
March 27, 2013 -- Extreme By Design, a co-production of Kikim Media and Hawkview Pictures, will be shown at Stanford's CEMEX Auditorium on Tuesday, April 9 at 5:30pm. This inspiring one-hour documentary follows a group of Stanford University business, engineering, and medical students as they design innovative products and services to solve problems of the world’s poor. The screening will be followed by an interactive panel with the students and filmmaker Ralph King.


The Botany of Desire wins the Award of the Minister of Agriculture in Prague
October 25, 2012 -- The Botany of Desire, Kikim's documentary based on Michael Pollan's best-selling book, is the winner of the Award of the Minister of Agriculture at the Life Sciences Film Festival in Prague. According to the jury, this honor was "awarded for an original and exceptionally illustrative insight into the relationship of man and plants." Learn more about the awards at the LSFF website.


Five Science Bytes episodes are now available on PBS.org and coming soon to the Atlantic video page
August 17, 2012 -- Kikim Media's first five Science Bytes videos are now all streaming on PBS Video and at our Science Bytes website. The first two episodes have also been featured on the website of The Atlantic with more of the series to appear there in the coming weeks.

Kikim's latest videos premiere at the Skoll World Forum
March 29, 2012 -- Kikim Media's latest videos for the Skoll Foundation screened today at the Skoll World Forum in Oxford, the most important annual meeting of social entrepreneurs from around the world. The screenings were also streamed live on the internet. The first film, Hanging in the Balance, tells the story of the remarkable progress social entrepreneurs in the Amazon have made in the fight to stop deforestation. The second film documents the extraordinary efforts of Visayan Forum Foundation to stop human trafficking in the Philippines. These are the 14th and 15th films that Kikim Media has produced for the Skoll Foundation since 2006.


The Botany of Desire Wins a 2011 CINE Golden Eagle Award
December 16, 2011 -- Kikim Media's documentary based on Michael Pollan's best-selling book won a prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award. Kikim completes new short video about nemaline myopathy
March 5, 2011 -- Kikim completed a new video about a rare muscular disease called nemaline myopathy. The video was commissioned by A Foundation Building Strength, a Palo Alto-based organization dedicated to advancing research about nemaline myopathy and providing support for families who are dealing with the disease.
