| Don Bernier has worked on such television documentaries as Reporting America at War, American Experience: RFK and Marie Antoinette. He has edited several programs for David Grubin Productions in New York, including episodes of the Emmy Award winning PBS series, The Mysterious Human Heart and The Jewish Americans. For Kikim Media, Bernier first cut an historical DVD extra for the popular HBO Deadwood series, entitled The Real Deadwood: Out of the Ashes. Most recently, he co-edited the PBS special, The Botany of Desire. Currently, Bernier is editing an episode of National Geographic Explorer for Winton/duPont Films in San Francisco.
In addition to his work as an editor, Bernier's own productions have screened at Slamdance, Los Angeles Film Festival, Independent Film Festival of Boston, and numerous other venues across the country. His 2005 documentary feature, In a Nutshell: A Portrait of Elizabeth Tashjian, was nominated for an IFP-Gotham Award and won a Crystal Heart Award at the Heartland Film Festival. In 2008, his short film, Shelf Life, premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival and is featured on KQED's website as part of their Truly CA series.
